The Common Core Math Standards (National Math Standards within the United States adopted by 45 of the 50 US States)  were developed using the best global practices of Mathematics.  The nation of Japan has consistently been an innovator and has has been influential in Global mathematics instruction.  It is well documented that the Common Core Standards  took into account many of the globe’s best mathematical practices  in order to create a set of new math standards in the United States.
